Viking Holdings Q1 Net Loss Narrows, Revenues Climb; Stock Down In Pre-market

(RTTNews) - Passenger transport company Viking Holdings Ltd (VIK) reported Tuesday narrower net loss in its first quarter with higher revenues.

In the pre-market activity on the NYSE, Viking shares were losing around 5.6 percent to trade at $44.46.

In the first quarter, net loss attributable to the company was $105.47 million, compared to loss of $491 million last year. Loss per share was $0.24, compared to loss of $1.20 per share a year earlier.

The prior year's result included a loss of $330.5 million related to the net impact of the Private Placement derivative loss and interest expense related to the Company's Series C Preference Shares.

Adjusted net loss in the prior year was $137.9 million or $0.33 per share.

The Wall Street analysts on average expected loss of $0.27 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Adjusted EBITDA was $72.8 million, an increase of $77.3 million compared to the same period in 2024.

Total revenue was $897.06 million, an increase of 24.9 percent from last year's $718.16 million, mainly driven by increased Capacity PCDs and higher revenue per PCD. The Street was looking for revenues of $841.18 million.

As of May 11, for its Core Products, Viking had sold 92 percent of its Capacity Passenger Cruise Days for the 2025 season and 37 percent of its Capacity Passenger Cruise Days for the 2026 season.

Based on the committed orderbook, the company expects to take delivery of one ocean ship and nine river vessels during the remainder of 2025.
